The thumbprint that set them free

In 2026, 98 children and 17 parents — 115 people in all — were freed from generational debt bondage at three brick kilns, after a seven-month effort that very nearly collapsed two days before it was supposed to happen.

The Christian community woman leader didn't wait for perfect conditions. She acted. With faith, commitment, and compassion, she established a humble but fully functional school that provides free education, basic healthcare support, transportation, learning materials, trained teachers, and security guards.

In a corner of Pakistan where poverty and child labor rob children of their futures, a small but mighty Christian woman has opened the doors of a two-room school — and with it, a new chapter of hope and freedom for over 65 children.

A trade of their own: the Proverbs 31 Women's Sewing Ministry

Freedom from a kiln debt means little without a way to earn a living outside it. We opened the Proverbs 31 Women's Sewing Ministry to train the wives of freed workers in tailoring — giving families a second, independent income that doesn't depend on a brick kiln.

Clean water, at last

Before, families walked to an irrigation canal for every drop of water they used — drinking, bathing, cooking, washing clothes — and the water was often filthy. We drilled a fresh water well with a solar-powered pump to change that, and we're now working on hand-pump wells at other sites.
